Adelaide Orientation: Layout and Directions

Much of Adelaide is divided into a number of small districts and regions, with the very centre of Adelaide featuring a gridwork of roads and including the lively Central Business District (CBD), where you will find a good selection of bars and restaurants. Also worthy noting, central Adelaide is home to a selection of top attractions, which include the spectacular Botanic Gardens, the eye-catching Sky City Casino, Adelaide Parliament and many popular luxury hotels, which line the city's North Terrace.

On the western side of Adelaide, the coastal region of Glenelg is extremely popular with visitors to the area, being connected to the city centre by regular trams. Glenelg is home to many attractive sandy beaches, a good selection of cafés with outdoor seating areas, and a number of tourist attractions. To the northwest of the city stands Port Adelaide, an important harbour which is still in use.
